FACTS & FIGURES
A journey which started with three (3) widows on the 23rd of May 2008 has grown into a network of almost a thousand widows today. Since its inception, the RoSF has empowered over 4,262 widows through vocational skills and awarded scholarships to 1,721 widow’s children as well as 295 orphans. The RoSF loans that are given to widows are interest free and the scholarships awarded have no conditions attached. The Rose of Sharon Foundation has also provided accommodation for residential/business purposes for 630 widows. Furthermore, in collaboration with several partners, the RoSF has provided free healthcare consultations and legal services for our widows.
The RoSF works in four program areas, covering fourteen initiatives that are aimed at transforming the lives of our beneficiaries for the better. These projects were designed in line with the Foundation’s mission and values based on Isaiah 1:17 which states that “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”
